Why doesn’t mobygratis use a standard Creative Commons license?

Mobygratis uses a custom license to reflect Moby’s personal ethical choices (e.g., disallowing use to promote meat, dairy, chemicals).

While it’s not a standard Creative Commons license, the spirit is similar: it exists to support free, creative, not for profit, non-commercial uses by other artists, students, and independent creators.
